Tennessee falls out of AP Poll

The 10Sports team looks at the Vols' 45-34 loss to Vanderbilt.

No surprise here, but following Saturday's 45-34 loss to Vanderbilt, the Tennessee Vols will head into bowl season unranked.

The Associated Press released its Top 25 poll Sunday, and Tennessee was nowhere to be found. The Vols did, however, receive 12 votes.

Tennessee entered rivalry week with an 8-3 record and ranked no. 24 in the AP poll. The Vols currently sit at no. 17 in the College Football Playoff poll, which announces its rankings Tuesday evenings.

Tennessee will discover its bowl fate Sunday, December 4, on Selection Day. Butch Jones will speak to the media the following day. It will be the first media availability the Vols will have following their loss to Vanderbilt.
