Vols ink hoops signee for 2014 class

KNOXVILLE (WBIR) - Tennessee basketball coach Donnie Tyndall has picked up his first signee as Vols coach.

Forward Jabari McGhee officially signed with the University of Tennessee on Friday, and expects to enroll in classes this summer.

McGhee attends Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, but also played prep basketball at Monroe High School in Albany, Ga. He played AAU basketball for the Atlanta Express.

Rivals.com lists him as a three-star prospect.

McGhee was previously an Auburn commit before a coaching change there.

He also received offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Marshall, Ole Miss, and Western Kentucky.

The Vols have 5 remaining scholarships after the departure of all four members of the previous 2014 signing class, inked by former coach Cuonzo Martin.

The current signing period for National Letters of Intent ends May 21.
