Vols release 2017 schedule

The SEC released the 2017 football schedule on Tuesday evening.

The marquee matchup for the Vols is on November 18 when LSU comes to Neyland Stadium for the penultimate game on the regular season slate.

The Third Saturday in October moniker will be true for Tennessee-Alabama in 2017. The Vols travel to Tuscaloosa on October 21.

Tennessee plays South Carolina a week before that trip on October 14. That's a departure from the normal Halloween week matchup. Playing Kentucky in October is also different that the usual November meeting.

The season begins on a Monday in Atlanta against Georgia Tech in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium and ends with a home game against Vanderbilt on November 25.

The Vols play seven games in Neyland, four true road games and one neutral site contest.

September 4  -  vs. Georgia Tech (Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta)

September 9  -  vs. Indiana State

September 16  -  at Florida

September 23  -  vs. UMass

September 30  -  vs. Georgia


October 14  -  vs. South Carolina

October 21  -  at Alabama

October 28  -  at Kentucky

November 4  -  vs. Southern Miss

November 11  -  at Missouri

November 18  -  vs. LSU

November 25  -  vs. Vanderbilt
