Lady Vols to play ETSU in road contest

JOHNSON CITY - The Tennessee Lady Vols play their third game in five days on Tuesday night in a road contest against the East Tennessee State Bucs.

Tennessee will attempt to open a campaign 3-0 for the fourth straight season under head coach Holly Warlick.

Tuesday night’s game marks the Lady Vols' first visit to ETSU since Jan. 17, 1981.

Tennessee is coming off of an 85-55 home victory over Navy on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Vols shot 12-of-14 from three-point range in the win. Junior guard Alexa Middleton shot 6-of-7 from three-point range to pour in 21 points for the Lady Vols.

ETSU won its first game of the season in a 68-59 road win against Butler on Friday. Bucs junior guard Tianna Tarter scored a team-high 24 points in the win.

The Lady Vols have a 19-2-1 record against the Bucs. Last season, Tennessee beat ETSU 85-49 in Knoxville.

Tennessee is ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25 Poll, and No. 14 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

Tipoff at the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center is set for 7 p.m. ET Tuesday. Friday night’s game is not on television, but fans can watch the game online at WatchESPN.com.
