Gamecock players don't want to hear any more Rocky Top

Oct. 28, 2016: South Carolina Head Football Coach Will Muschamp has been playing Rocky Top during practice this week to prepare his team to play the Vols.

COLUMBIA - Tennessee fans love Rocky Top, particularly singing it at the top of their lungs along with the Pride of the Southland Band after a Vol touchdown.

But as you can imagine, other teams really don't like the song that much.

South Carolina coach Will Muschamp used the Vols' unofficial fight song to motivate his team this week before Tennessee shows up to play at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.

He's been playing Rocky Top all week at practice, and you can just imagine how much the Gamecocks are enjoying it.

“Sometimes you get tired of listening to it and you don’t want to listen to it on game day. So I told our guys, ‘Play good and you won’t have to listen to it,’ ” Muschamp said.

The only way to silence the sounds of Rocky Top during a game is to keep the Vols out of the endzone, so we'll see what happens in the SEC matchup, set for 7:15 p.m. on ESPN2.

While we are waiting, let's relive last year's victory over South Carolina!
