KNOXVILLE: - Three-star senior quarterback CJ Lewis of Cheshire (Conn.) Academy announced Tuesday night on his Twitter account that he has decommitted from Tennessee.
The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pound Lewis had been committed to the Vols since July 23. But they recently have resumed their search for a quarterback in the 2017 class, extending offers to three-star prospect Bubba Thompson of Mobile, Ala., three-star South Carolina commitment Jay Urich of Piedmont, S.C., and four-star Virginia Tech
Lewis, who's ranked the nation's No. 1,265 overall prospect and No. 28 dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class, posted a note on his Twitter account explaining his decision.
