Former University of Tennessee defensive back Riyahd Jones has been named in a rape investigation being conducted by Knoxville Police Department, according to a single-page police incident report.
No charge has been filed.
The incident was reported the night of Feb. 5 at the Gateway at Knoxville apartment complex, 301 S. Lippencott St., in South Knoxville.
The report indicates it occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5.
The document states a Knoxville investigator responded about 7:20 p.m. that night on the report that the forcible rape had occurred at the apartment complex.
"I spoke with the victim," Investigator M.J. Booker's report states. "The case is ongoing."
Jones, of Columbus, Ga., announced through Twitter on Feb. 2 that he would be transferring. The rape is alleged to have occurred three days later.
Jones was a senior defensive back for the Vols in 2014, but did not play in any games.
He could have claimed it as a redshirt season and returned for 2015, but on Monday, Feb. 2, tweeted his intentions to leave the program.
"i wish. (sic) im in the process of transferring," he wrote in response to the question "don't u (sic) have one more year at UT?"
Jones is not on Tennessee's online, 2015 roster.
He originally played at Georgia Southern as a freshman in 2011, playing 10 games. He then transferred to Garden City (KS) C.C. for the 2012 season, before transferring to Tennessee in 2013.
Jones played in two games as a junior in 2013.
