Martin Truex Jr. wins Southern 500

Martin Truex Jr. took the lead with 28 laps remaining and never looked back as he finished first in the Bojangles Southern 500 in Darlington Sunday.

Truex's most recent win came Memorial Day, May 29, in Charlotte at the Coca Cola 600.

Kevin Harvick started the race in the pole position, and led for 214 of the race's 367 laps. Kyle Larson also flirted with the lead after stealing it from Denny Hamlin with 83 laps to go. Larson won his first career Sprint Cup race last Sunday in Michigan.

Knoxville native Trevor Bayne went to the garage early after spinning out of control. NASCAR also inspected the no. 6 car to check whether fluid was leaking.
