Miracle in Athens: Vols beat Georgia 34-31 in final second

Patrick Murray and Wes Rucker from govols247.com bring you analysis and reaction from the Vols on the wild 34-31 last second win over Georgia.

Something special happened in Athens Saturday evening as the Vols trailed Georgia by three points in the final second.

Tennessee was not about to let its perfect season slip away with its hopes of heading to their first SEC Championship since 2007.

In the final second, Quarterback Josh Dobbs lobbed the ball into the air toward Jauan Jennings in the end zone. In an stunning moment, Jennings came up with the catch, and  just like that the Vols had beaten Georgia between the hedges, 34-31.

Coach Butch Jones spoke after the game, saying he firmly believed in his team's ability to pull off the win on that final play.

After the game, the Vols headed home to Knoxville where they were greeted warmly by fans and students. The Vols are undefeated at 5-0, and head to College Station next week to take on the Texas A&M Aggies. That game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 8.
