CAK QB Epperly headed to Cowboys rookie minicamp

Former CAK and Princeton QB Quinn Epperly is headed to rookie minicamp with the Dallas Cowboys. WBIR 10Sports Reporter Luke Slabaugh caught up with him before he left Knoxville.

CAK alum Quinn Epperly reported to Dallas Cowboys rookie minicamp on Thursday.

He''ll find out on Sunday if he made the team for the rest of training camp.

Epperly, 24, was a two-time all-state quarterback at CAK before his graduation in 2011. He played college football at Princeton, bringing home Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2013.

"Been working a long time for this opportunity!" Epperly wrote Saturday in an Instagram post. "Got my shot next week at rookie minicamp to make the dream a reality!"

Epperly's 2013 campaign for the Tigers is still widely considered the best at the FCS school. Epperly scored 43 total touchdowns and had 2,137 total passing yards. He also had a streak of 29 straight completions, a FCS record.

Epperly previously attended rookie camps for the New York Jets and New York Giants. He most recently competed in Tennessee football's Pro Day in late March in front of NFL scouts.
