Tennessean says Munchak back; Titans say no decision made

The Tennessean's Jim Wyatt reports the Titans will retain head coach Mike Munchak in 2014.

But the team released a statement Friday night saying a decision had not been made.

Munchak flew to Houston on Friday with GM Ruston Webster to meet with team CEO Tommy Smith.

Upon his flight back, The Tennessean reported the Titans would keep Munchak, who is 22-26 in three seasons, with no playoff appearances.

But minutes later the team released a statement saying no decision had been made following the meeting.

"I said all along that we would review every aspect of the football operations at the conclusion of the season - in early January," Smith said in the statement. "Today I sat down with Ruston and Mike and we discussed every coach and player on the roster. We had good discussions, but no final decisions were made."
