Hardin Valley takes the 21-14 win over South-Doyle

Hardin Valley kicked off at South-Doyle tonight. Both teams are going into their third game and are looking to keep an undefeated record. Fortunately, for Hardin Valley the game would start out in their favor.

Starting the game, South Doyle's Joc Bruce ran for a whopping 75 yards on the first play, but this would be brought back due to a hold. The Cherokees would punt on fourth down and the punt would go wrong. Hardin Valley would take control in South-Doyle territory. The Hawk's Jordan Jackson would take advantage and barrels through for a Hardin Valley touchdown. Hardin Valley takes the lead 7-0.

Just before the first rain delay, South-Doyle's Malik Lundy would give the Cherokee's a good run putting them in good position once they returned from the hour and a half rain delay.

Once the delay was over around 9 PM, Hardin Valley wanted to extend their lead and would put up another seven points on the board. South-Doyle's Joc Bruce did not like this though as he responds and drove the ball into the end zone. The extra point was missed, Hardin Valley leads 14-6.

The game is not over as South-Doyle refused to go down without a fight. Only a couple minutes left on the clock and the Cherokees would find the end zone one more time before the clock ran out. They would successfully go for the 2-point conversion tying the game up at 14-14.

Mother Nature had to make another statement though after the conversion to put another weather delay into effect with 1:29 left in the fourth quarter. The game would resume at 11:51 PM.

After almost five hours since game start, the game would go into overtime.

Hardin Valley took possession of the ball first and the Hawk's Jordan Jackson would run it in for the touchdown, 21-14.

Joc Bruce would catch on the slant for a touchdown, but once again the ball is brought back due to an illegal procedure. The ball would be brought back to the 12 yard line and the Cherokee's could not find their way back into the end zone.

Hardin Valley wins over South-Doyle, 21-14.
