MORRISTOWN — Kent-Ta Tanner did the heavy lifting for South-Doyle High School, but it was a third-down prayer tossed from Caleb Wender to Seandre Scott with 14.8 seconds to go that sent the Cherokees to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs with a 28-21 win over Morristown East on Thursday at Burke-Toney Stadium.

“We ran a T-wheel with a post,” South-Doyle coach Clark Duncan said. “The safety jumped the wheel and it just popped open. Our quarterback did a great job reading the post.”
