Webb football hoping to repeat as champs on Thursday

For the second game in a row the Webb Spartans will face a Memphis team, this time with a state championship on the line.

Webb rolled to a 28-15 win over ECS two weeks ago.

The Spartans are ready for a rematch of the 2010 championship against St. George's.

Webb won that contest and they're hoping that game, plus last week's match up will help them repeat as champs.

"We played them my freshman year so we kind of know what to expect," said All-American and Vols commit Todd Kelly, Jr. "We've seen film on them we know who their key players are. We're pretty excited about th

e game considering it's the last game for our seniors and we want to make sure we bring the golden ball back to Knoxville."

Webb coach David Meske said the teams are similar.

"Actually when you look at the Memphis teams they are a lot alike," he said. "So, ECS and St. George's do a lot of the same things. I think St. George's tries to run the ball a little bit more out of the spread then ECS."
