Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins reinstated pitcher Anthony
Swarzak from the 15-day disabled list and selected the contract of outfielder
Matt Carson from Triple-A Rochester on Friday.
Swarzak was 2-4 with a 4.43 earned run average in 31 games (four starts) prior
to landing on the DL in late July with a mild right rotator cuff strain.
Carson hit .277 with 14 home runs, 23 doubles and 49 RBI in 110 games for the
Red Wings this season. He hasn't played in the majors since a 36-game stint
with the Oakland Athletics in 2010.
To make room for Carson on the 40-man roster, the Twins outrighted Rene
Tosoni. The outfielder is currently playing for Double-A New Britain.
