Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - James Neal scored twice and added an assist
as the Pittsburgh Penguins took a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on
Wednesday. Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists, while Pascal Dupuis also
scored for the Penguins, who snapped a two-game slide. Marc-Andre Fleury made
27 saves in the win. Jim O'Brien and Stephane Da Costa each scored for the
Senators, who have lost five of seven. Craig Anderson made 26 saves in the
loss. Ottawa also lost defenseman and reigning Norris Trophy winner Erik
Karlsson in the game and possibly for the season with a cut to his left
Achilles. Late in the second period he got clipped by the skate of
Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke when the two were going for a puck. He had to be
helped off the ice as he was unable to put any pressure on the leg. The team
announced on its Twitter page that he will have surgery and is out
indefinitely.

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Alex Steen scored just 52 seconds into overtime
to help the St. Louis Blues take a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings on
Wednesday. In the extra session, Barret Jackman threw a hard shot on net
from the left side that hit off of Jimmy Howard and popped out to the right.
Steen was able to grab the puck and jam it in for the win. Chris Stewart had
a goal and an assist while Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Tarasenko each
scored for the Blues, who snapped a five-game slide. Jake Allen stopped 15
shots in the win. Pavel Datsyuk, Drew Miller and Tomas Tatar all scored for
the Red Wings, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Howard made 21
saves.

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Mike Cammalleri notched his fifth career hat
trick and added an assist as a big first period helped Calgary take a 7-4 win
over Dallas on Wednesday. Roman Cervenka had a goal and an assist while
Jay Bouwmeester, Curtis Glencross and Jiri Hudler all scored for the
Flames, who snapped a two-game slide. Leland Irving gave up four goals on 34
shots in the win. Brenden Morrow tallied two goals with Cody Eakin and
Eric Nystrom also lighting the lamp for the Stars, who had a four-game
winning streak stopped. Richard Bachman gave up six goals on 22 shots in the
loss.
