New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Rangers forward Rick Nash will not
play in Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, though the team has not
disclosed the reason for the scratch.
Nash did miss Saturday's practice for what head coach John Tortorella termed a
"maintenance day", but played in Sunday's matchup against Washington without
restrictions. The veteran sniper registered an assist while logging nearly 23
minutes of ice time in New York's 2-1 victory over the Capitals.
The seven-time 30-goal scorer, acquired by the Rangers in a blockbuster trade
with Columbus over the summer, has recorded three goals and nine assists along
with a plus-nine rating over his first 14 games with New York.
Rookie Chris Kreider, recalled from the minors over the weekend, will replace
Nash for Tuesday's tilt.
