
Six East Tennessee teams punched their ticket to the TSSAA state football semifinals Friday night, while half a dozen others had their seasons come to an end.
Maryville defeated Farragut in the marquee matchup in the area. The Rebels 35-14 victory ends the Admirals season. Maryville will host Riverdale next Friday.
In 5-A, Anderson County fell in a wild shootout to Columbia, 50-44.
Greeneville will host a 4-A semifinal with Nashville White's Creek after upsetting Red Bank 14-13 on a blocked PAT attempt in the 4th quarter.
Alcoa cruised into the 3-A semis, eliminating Loudon, 21-3. The top-ranked Tornadoes hit the road to Elizabethton for the semifinals.
The 2-A semifinals feature a Rockwood team that's on a roll. They beat Hampton 28-14 and now visit Chattanooga Boyd-Buchanon for a spot in the state championship game.
Grace advanced to the A semifinals by outscoring Harriman 35-21. The Rams will be at home next Friday against South Pittsburg.
And in Division II-A, Webb knocked off Evangelical Christian of Memphis 42-28. They now take on University School of Jackson for the right to play in the Blue Cross Bowl.
