Tennessee's receivers have been catching onto David Cutcliffe's uptempo practice sessions. After a season of dropped passes and underperforming, that's a good thing to catch.

"They're certainly physically gifted," said Fulmer. "We've seen that since they've been here. But the inconsistencies at receiver last year was probably my biggest disappointment in the football team."

Fulmer added that the receivers have looked good so far in spring drills and summer workouts.

Offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe knows they'll be lighter and fitter after getting adjusted to his fast tempo practices.

"You should see a difference," said Cutcliffe. "I'm not going to sit there and say we're there yet. The thing I did like is that I wanted them to become more physical, whether it's releases in routes versus press coverage, whether it's blocking downfield. I do think they've tried to take that challenge."

The Vols begin practice August 4th, and open the season at home against California September 2nd.
