An NFL player is in critical condition after being shot several times early this morning in Jacksonville, Florida.

Richard Collier is number 76 on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Police say collier and a former Jacksonville Jaguars player Kenneth Pettway were in a parked car when a gunman shot into their vehicle.

They were waiting for some women they had met at a club to come out of an apartment at about two-thirty this morning.

Officials said the 26-year-old Collier was struck several times, and Pettway was not injured.

Officials are still investigating.

Police said the men were at the apartment building to drop off a car before going somewhere else.

The 6-foot-7 Collier is a backup Offensive Lineman. Pettway was a backup Defensive End until he was cut from the team last weekend.
