Morristown West's Daymion Blevins and Scott's Hayden Byrge were voted the PrepXtra Players of the Week for Week 7.
Blevins won PrepXtra Offensive Player of the Week after tallying just over 36 percent of votes in the PrepXtra poll. The senior running back carried the rock 31 yards for 244 yards. Blevins scored all four touchdowns in the Trojans' 28-14 win over crosstown rival Morristown East on September 30.
"Unbelievable effort by [Blevins,]" Trojans' head coach Lamar Brown said.
Brown wasn't surprised by Blevins' statistics.
"Daymion's been a warrior ever since he's been here," Brown said. "He's a guy we knew we could hand the ball to 30 times a game, and he proved that."
Blevins didn't shy away from Coach Browns' expectations.
"He expects the best out of me," Blevins said. "He knows I can do what he wants me to."
The Trojans have a bye this week before facing Daniel Boone October 14.
Scott High School middle linebacker Hayden Byrge racked up nearly 53 percent of votes to take home the PrepXtra Defensive Player of the Week honor.
The senior recorded 12 tackles, including two tackles-for-loss and two sacks, as Scott defeated Kingston 28-24 last Friday.
Highlanders' coach Keith Shannon was impressed by Byrge's poise.
"The way he handled his business, being calm, cool, collective all week in practice and handling the emotions of the day, for that game Friday was really impressive," Shannon said.
Scott will face Seymour Friday, October 7.
