(WBIR) Every Wednesday, Ijams hosts a workshop, sharing the ins and outs of all-natural gardening.

Topics included how to tend a garden without using harmful chemicals and pesticides.

These workshops are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Peg Beute, senior naturalist at Ijams Nature Center, said all-natural gardening is not only a great hobby, it's also a great way to provide healthy food to the family.

"It's relaxing, it's good for your to be outside, and if you're growing your own food, you know where it's coming from and what you've done to it before you eat it," said Beute.

Gardening is also a great way to attract local wildlife to your yard, according to Beute.
