Santa, or his elves, appear in hourly dive shows in Gatlinburg

(WBIR-Gatlinburg, Tenn.) Santa deserves a vacation every chance he gets. The world's most jolly elf is currently enjoying a break at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg.

"A lot of people have no idea this is happening and they sit down to learn about stingrays. Who comes down to feed the stingrays? Santa Claus," said aquarium spokesperson Andy Taylor.

Santa, or his elves, will appear in hourly dive shows at the Gatlinburg attraction through Christmas Day. Visitors watch in awe as the North Pole natives feed and interact with the animals.

"It's just like Christmas," said guest Debbie Marlow from Illinois. "Sometimes you get things unexpected and that is the excitement."

This is the first year the aquarium invited Santa and his elves inside the tanks.
