Start the weekend off with a trip to Clarence Brown Theatre for a production of "The Trip Bountiful." It's the tale of a woman's life-affirming journey back home. You can catch a performance all weekend through Sunday.

Friday night Todd Snider along with Amanda Shires will take the stage at the Bijou Theatre. This Nashville singer/songwriter may remind you of John Prine. Tickets are $19.50. Show starts at 8:00 pm.

The Ice Bears are at home this weekend. Friday night's opponent is the Fayetteville FireAtnz. Saturday is hockey weekend across the country and the Bears are set to face the Bloomington Thunder. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.

Dress up your pup for a fun festival to benefit Young Williams Animal Center. Mardi Growl is in its 7th year and going strong. The parade starts at 11:00 am Saturday at the Petsafe Downtown Dog Park with festivities continuing on Market Square till 2:00 pm.

The News Sentinel Women Today Expo will be in full swing Saturday through Sunday at the Knoxville Convention Center. Features include over 200 exhibitor booths and opportunities to rub elbows with celebrities.

Saturday the folks at Renaissance Terrace Assisted Living will be hosting a disco party to raise money for their residents. The party takes place Saturday at the Kerbela Temple from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Saturday night, NV Nightclub hosts the 8th Annual Doc Rock Benefit Concert. The ultimate Battle of Physician Bands will kick off at 6:30 pm. General Admission is $15. Must be 18+ to attend.

Also Saturday the 9th Annual Teen Step Show kicks off at the Civic Auditorium. Watch as the teens showcase there best moves starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets day of are $10.

And if you're looking for more of a fuzzy way to spend your weekend head to the Sevierville Convention Center for the Southern Select Alpaca Show. Close to 600 Alpacas will be on hand for this 2 day event starting on Saturday. The fun begins each day at 9:00 am.
