Lots of fun events to enjoy this weekend in East Tennessee.
A great charity event to look into Friday is the KAPA Boot Skootin' Ball. This year's ball features Montgomery Gentry and helps provide health care to low-income individuals. The fun kicks off at 6:30 pm at the Knoxville Convention Center.
The Dogwood Arts Festival has many events downtown this weekend along with First Friday. The 100 block of Gay Street will be filled with street performers and new art. The festivities start around 6:00 pm.
It's time for Rhythm "N" Blooms which means it's time to head downtown and catch any of the 64 musical acts that will be lighting up the city through Sunday. Join hundreds of artists, vendors and venues for guaranteed good time. The music starts Friday.
Another great event from the Dogwood Arts festival is the always colorful Chalk Walk. Saturday, artists will create their best chalk art on the sidewalks of Market Square.
Also Saturday join some of your favorite WBIR personalities at World's Fair Park for the first ever Great Llama Race. Man and llama will race side by side to raise money for Casa de Sara, local schools and Southeastern Llama Rescue. The event kicks off at 11:00 am.
The Knoxville Expo Center will be the site of this spring's Duck Duck Goose consignment sale. Shop for great deals through Saturday. Doors open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Fans of Saved By the Bell don't want to miss Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. Screech Powers, at Side Spiltters this weekend. Dustin will bring his unique brand of humor to the stage through Saturday. For tickets and showtimes go to www.sidesplitterscomedy.com.
The Tennessee Theatre will host a Beatle tribute of epic proportions Saturday night. "RAIN: A Beatle Tribute" takes you on a musical journey through the life and times of one of history's most celebrated bands. The show starts at 8:00 pm.
If you are downtown Sunday, step into the Bijou Theatre to catch a performance of the Knoxville Symphony Chamber Series: Principle Quartet. The curtain goes up at 2:30 pm. Tickets start at $15.
