NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two friends from Dyersburg were the first winners in Tennessee of the multi-state Hot Lotto game.
The pair, 59-year-old Steve Martin and 48-year-old Rebecca Butler, walked away from Tennessee Lottery offices in Nashville with a check for $2.2 million.
The pair claimed the prize Thursday. Martin and Butler said they were extremely excited, but also a bit nervous and wanted to remain "as low-key as possible."
They bought the winning ticket at "All in One" in Dyersburg. That store will receive $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Hot Lotto is a-jurisdictional drawing-style game launched in Tennessee on May 12 and features all cash jackpots starting at $1 million.
