(WBIR) - Even in the cold, people donned wetsuits Saturday and hit the Tennessee River for some skiing, wakeboarding and tubing-- all to help local charities.
"I enjoy seeing the proceeds going to help other people, especially the young kids who go out there and have traumatics injuries or illness. I enjoy giving back to the community," said Matthew Porterfield, who is a board member of Eskimo Escapades.
That money is going toward the Patricia Neal I-R-C, the Amputee Adventure Camp and Dream Connection, which gives opportunities to children who have life-threatening illnesses. This is the 20th year of Eskimo Escapades.
