(WBIR, Knoxville) - An assisted living community in West Knoxville is raising money for Alzheimer's Tennessee Friday, and they're relieving some stress while they do it!
Elmcroft Assisted Living in West Knoxville is hoping to knock out Alzheimer's by hosting a car bash and cookout.
Some of the residents even got to take some swings at the car. They say it's a great way to relieve some stress and help out a great cause!
"Alzheimer's Tennessee is near and dear to our heart. We're an assisted living facility, and we have a secured memory care, and we have caregivers come in all the time discussing how difficult it is to care for their loved ones. And we are lucky here to have 24 hour care, but not everyone is able to have the service to them. So we want to be able to give back as much as we can to Alzheimer's Tennessee since they keep it here local," said Rebecca Swingle, Community Relations Director for Elmcroft.
The event will last until 4:00 p.m. For a $5 donation you get three swings at the car.
