(WBIR) A young black bear from Virginia has found a new home at the Knoxville Zoo.
Virginia authorities seized the yearling black bear from a home last year. The owner had been keeping the bear in his house for a month. Since the bear was no longer fearful of people, the Wildlife Center of Virginia decided to place him in a new safe environment, which happened to be the Knoxville Zoo.
The bear hasn't arrived to Knoxville yet. A zoo spokesperson said they hope to get him next week. When he arrives, the bear will have to go through a 30-day quarantine at the zoo before he's introduced to other animals.
