Tupelo Honey Cafe continues to expand across the Southeast.

The regional restaurant chain opened a new location in Johnson City on Monday. The restaurant sits inside a long vacant former railroad depot that dates back more than a hundred years.

Tupelo Honey Cafe worked to maintain the building's historic charm as part of its design.

The Asheville-based chain also operates restaurants in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Greenville, South Carolina, and Charlotte. A Raleigh location is in the works.
