1 box Uncle Ben's wild rice

1 onion, chopped

2 celery stalks, chopped

2 carrots, peeled, chopped

1/2 stick butter or margarine

1/2 c. flour

2 (14-1/2 oz) cans chicken broth

3 cups cooked chicken

1 cup half & half

1 cup 2% milk

salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the wild rice according to package. Chop the onion, celery, and carrots and saute them in butter until tender. Add the flour; stir. Add the broth. Boil for 1 minute. Reduce heat. Add remaining ingredients. Stir and simmer until warm through. Serves 8.

NOTE: You can use 2 cups light cream in place of the half and half and milk.
