Country radio and CMT personality Cody Alan will debut as the new host of Premiere Networks' syndicated "After MidNite" radio program in early January.

The show will be re-branded as "CMT After MidNite with Cody Alan" and will originate from the CMT Radio studio in Nashville. The show, now in its 20th season, reaches nearly two million weekly listeners and is featured on more than 200 stations nationally.

The move is an immediate result of a new agreement between CMT and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment that is designed to create the largest country music platform in both radio and television.

Under the agreement, CMT and Clear Channel will work together to develop additional programming and events across radio, television and digital platforms.

The partnership also will allow for cross-promotional opportunities across 125 Clear Channel Country stations in 105 markets and on iHeartRadio, Clear Channel's digital music service, as well CMT and its digital platforms, including the 24/7 music channel CMT Pure, CMT.com and CMT Mobile.

The deal provides access to CMT's reach of 92 million households, while Clear Channel has a reach of 89 million country music listeners per month.

"We know (Clear Channel's) leadership, and we share their excitement and tenacity in working with music and talent to bring the most exciting entertainment to all of these platforms," said Brian Philips, CMT president. "Country is enjoying a big moment. Clear Channel and CMT will capture it, celebrate it and spread the excitement across America to hundreds of millions."
