Some of Knoxville's young but talented musicians got to play side-by-side with the professionals Thursday night.

A free performance brought together strings players from Bearden High School and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. It was a chance for students to learn from the professionals and play alongside the musicians they admire.

Players and teachers say it's a performance they'll never forget.

"It's quite an honor. I in a sense idolize these players. It's just kind of a dream come true to join them and play with them and make music together," said Bearden student Parker Jones.

They played music from Vaughan Williams and Mozart during their performance.
