The trees and flowers are getting their color back and it's April, so that means it's time for some Rhythm N' Blooms.

The annual Old City festival kicked off Friday with more than 100 of the best jazz, blues and bluegrass performances this side of the Smoky Mountains.

It shouldn't just be music to your ears-- Dogwood Arts has added plenty of new things to their docket, creating a whole new vibe for Rhythm N' Blooms.

"Everything is really new this year, but the village is a new idea. It's bringing a festival vibe together. We've got River Sports with slack lines and climbing walls. We have moonshine tastings and cocktails. We have all this stuff happening along Jackson Avenue," said Erin Slocum, marketing manager for Dogwood Arts.
