At Bonnaroo, stars of rock, electronic, hip-hop, bluegrass and more don't just rub elbows on the bill — they also share the stage.
The annual multi-genre music festival — which returns for its 13th year in Manchester, Tenn. next month — has just shared the ambitious lineups for three all-star "SuperJam" performances to take place during the festival. The "SuperJam" is now touted as Bonnaroo's signature event, and brings together artists from different musical realms to perform together for one night only.
Electronic dance music giant Skrillex hosts one of two jams that's all over the map. He'll perform with reggae mainstay Damian Marley, Robby Krieger of The Doors, fellow electronic star Zedd and acclaimed R&B artist Janelle Monáe, among others.
Blues guitar great Derek Trucks has tapped everyone from "Queen of Funk" Chaka Kahn and blues vet Taj Mahal to Nashville piano-pop favorite Ben Folds and soulful songsmith Susan Tedeschi.
"Hangover" and "Office" star Ed Helms is also a bluegrass-loving musician, and he'll return to Bonnaroo this year for his second "Bluegrass Situation SuperJam" with guests including country hitmaker Dierks Bentley and roots-rockers Shovels & Rope.
This year's Bonnaroo takes place June 12-15 in Manchester, Tenn. Tickets are $284.50 at www.bonnaroo.com.
