If Apple winds up buying Beats Electronics, the deal could make co-founder Dr. Dre a very rich — richer — man. The electronics company, known for its high-end headphones and audio equipment, could sell for $3.2 billion, reports The Financial Times.

Dre already ranks as the second wealthiest rapper, according to a recent Forbes article. But a Apple/Beats deal could put him in the lead, ahead of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who currently has an estimated worth of $700 million, thanks in part to his recent launch of Revolt TV.

Rounding out the Forbes top five: Cash Money Records co-founders Bryan "Birdman" Williams and brother Ronal "Slim" Williams, with an estimated net worth of more than $300 million, followed by 50 Cent, who, in addition to his musical work, earned much of his $100 fortune from the 2007 sale of Vitaminwater.
