A 29 year-old woman is walking 3,800 miles to help sick children

(WBIR-Bean Station) Drivers on Highway 25E in Bean Station may have spotted Stacie Eichinger Tuesday. The 29-year-old Arizona woman stood out in her pink jogging jacket and orange vest.

Eichinger left the State of Washington on May 8 and walked 3,000 miles to Bean Station, Tennessee. The Arizonan hopes to arrive at her final destination February 1 in Savannah, Georgia.

She's walking 3,800 miles to raise money for the Beads of Courage organization.

Beads of Courage provides art therapy for kids with serious illnesses through expensive and unique beads. The group provides the service to 150 hospitals around the world. Annually, it costs $10,000 to incorporate the program at each facility.

So far, Elchinger has raised more than $19,745 with a total goal of $38,000.
