Lea Michele's rendition of "Make You Feel My Love" is particularly heartbreaking.
Days before Glee's tribute episode addressing the death of actor Cory Monteith, and subsequently his character, Finn Hudson, Fox has released audio of featured songs recorded by the cast.
If the group's rendition of Rent's Seasons of Love isn't enough to make you reach for the nearest Kleenex box, listen to Lea Michele, Monteith's on- and off-screen girlfriend, sing a haunting cover of Adele's Make You Feel My Love, originally written by Bob Dylan.
The episode including the songs will air Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. All of the proceeds from the episode's music sales in the USA and Canada will be donated to Project Limelight, one of Monteith's favorite charities, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Monteith died in July from an overdose of heroin and alcohol in a Vancouver hotel room. He was 31.
"The episode is called The Quarterback and Cory really was (a quarterback) to that group of people and to me, particularly," Glee creator Ryan Murphy told a group of reporters recently. "He was the most kind, the most generous, never had a bad word for anybody."
Though he called the actors' performances "amazing," filming was still difficult.
"I've never seen a crew that can't continue shooting because they've left the room sobbing. It was very hard," he said. "I struggled even working on it, because what you're seeing is what they felt about not just Finn, but Cory. ... Everybody went into it with a lot of love."
