(WBIR) Today seniors looking for full-time or part-time work can attend a job fair targeted for people 50 and older.
At the event, seniors can meet with prospective employers, socialize with other seniors, and talk to the CAC about services it offers. The job fair is at the CAC LT Ross Building on 2247 Western Avenue in northwest Knoxville. It opens at 9 a.m. and closes at noon.
An estimated 9 million Americans ages 44 to 70 are in second careers, and 31 million seniors are interested in pursuing one. The CAC Office on Aging's Senior Employment Service provides free assistance to seniors looking to enter or re-enter the workforce. Services include resume writing, application assistance, employment workshops and job referrals.
