(WBIR-Knoxville) Within three years of opening, The Casual Pint has already seen two new locations open. They plan to double that by 2014, in Tennessee, and beyond.
"We knew we wanted to open some stores here in Knoxville and franchising was always part of the grand plan," co-owner Nathan Robinette said.
The business is billed as a craft beer market, selling brew by the glass or by the six pack.
Last month, the owners started making deals on franchise agreements with at least two local owners. Robinette said there's strong interest in bringing the Pint to future locations in Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and Nashville.
"Sign an agreement to use our brand. Their store will look like ours, all the training and support and materials we give them," Robinette explained.
Franchise ownerJeff Sweeney is hoping for a February opening of a Casual Pint near Northshore Towne Center.
"Just so impressed about their business model and their plans for expansion. We have some plans for expansion of our own-- we don't want to stop with one store," he said.
Steve Brandon plans to get his Causal Pint open off Broadway in Fountain City shortly after that.
"This is a wonderful opportunity and me and my wife -- it was a great deal to bring this franchise to our lovely little neighborhood of Fountain City," Brandon explained.
And they're not stopping in the Volunteer state.
"We had very good interest in the Carolinas, down through Georgia, Florida, so we're certainly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead," he said.
Talks about that expansion should continue in 2014.
