(WBIR) Could Volkswagen's new SUV be made in Tennessee?

Right now, the company hasn't said exactly where the new midsize SUV could be built, but it's plant in Chattanooga is under construction. VW already makes the Passat in Chattanooga.

Detriot Free Press reports that the automaker said it plans to invest $7 billion in North America over the next five years. It's part of a push to sell more than 1 million Volkswagen and Audi vehicles in the U.S. by 2018.

The SUV is expected to go on sale in 2016.
