(WBIR) Most Americans now say the "American dream" is out of reach.

Almost 60 percent of people think that dream is unattainable, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

The younger people are, the worse their outlook. Among people ages 18-34, 63 percent say the "American dream" is impossible.

Americans' perspectives also don't offer much hope for the youngest generation. Only 34 percent surveyed said most children in the U.S. will be better off than their parents.
