(WBIR) The Governor's Mansion Holiday Tour will showcase several East Tennessee heroes this year.

The theme for 2013 is "Tennessee Legends," which features historical figures like Dolly Parton, Pat Summitt and David Crockett. The tour will also include former President Andrew Jackson and Sequoyah, who created the Cherokee alphabet. Students, ranging from elementary school to college, created ornaments to decorate trees in the residence as well.

"Tennessee's Home for the Holidays" is an open house event at the Tennessee Residence held during the first two weeks in December. Tours have already started and run through Dec. 14.

Over the past two years, nearly 10,000 visitors have toured the home. This is the third annual holiday open house for Gov. Bill Haslam and his wife, Crissy.
