(WBIR) A Tennessee couple has been charged in the death of an infant, which authorities said had been exposed to meth.
NBC-Affiliate WCYB reports Elizabethton Police responded to the couple's home on Bluefield Avenue back on November 20, 2012 and found an unresponsive 8-month-old child.
The infant ended up dying at the hospital.
During an investigation by DCS and the Elizabethton Police, investigators determined Jeffrey McLaughlin, 26, and Stephanie Bowman, 22, used meth. An autopsy on the infant noted the child was exposed to meth. A grand jury charged the pair with attempted aggravated child abuse.
The two were taken to the Carter County jail on January 17. They're scheduled to go before a judge on March 24.
