(WBIR) An Oklahoma company has designed a bulletproof blanket to protect children during school shootings.
The "Bodyguard Blanket" is neon orange and can be worn like a backpack. The company, ProTecht, said the blanket can also shield an adult or child from falling debris in a natural disaster or a 9 millimeter bullet.
But its durability comes with a heft price tag of $1,000. The company said the blanket is expensive because it's made from the same material found in protective gear used by military and law enforcement.
The company claims the blanket provides bullet resistant protection against 90 percent of all weapons that have been used in school shootings in the U.S.
