(WBIR) Nashville Metro Council voted Tuesday to extend health benefits to domestic partners of city employees.

The council voted 27 to 7 in favor of offering those benefits to same-sex partners.

Nashville joins three East Tennessee cities who do the same: Knoxville, Collegedale and Chattanooga.
