A hearing involving four ex-Vanderbilt University football players accused of raping an unconscious woman has been pushed back a month.
Brandon Vandenburg, 20, from Indio, Calif.; Cory Batey, 19, of Nashville; Brandon Eric Banks, 19, from Brandywine, Md.; and Jaborian McKenzie, 18, from Woodville, Miss., are each charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Vandenburg also is charged with one count of unlawful photography and tampering with evidence.
All four were scheduled for a routine hearing in the case on Sept. 19. It has been postponed to Oct. 16. They're all free on bond while awaiting trial.
One of their teammates, wide receiver Chris Boyd, is still expected to appear in court Friday for a hearing. He's charged with being an accessory after the fact in covering up the June 23 rape of a 21-year-old woman in Vandenburg's dorm room.
Two of Vandenburg's former teammates are similarly charged, but awaiting extradition from California to Tennessee. They have been charged with tampering with evidence in the case.
