Monday night, authorities in Blount County made a meth bust at a Maryville home where kids live just next door.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office, Maryville Police Department and Maryville Fire Department responded to a house near the intersection of Wright and Lincoln roads around 7 p.m. They discovered materials used for making meth in a white Dodge Durango parked in the driveway.

One person was taken into custody at that home. His name, and the charges against him, have not been released.

Randall Quiett moved next door to the house where the bust occurred last December. He said the property next door to his has been a constant problem.

"Noticed right away there was suspicious activity going on, heavy traffic," Quiett said.

He called the authorities on Friday about the property. He said he was surprised by what they discovered, but happy with their efforts.

"It's going to calm down for awhile," he said.
