(WBIR-Clinton) Clinton Police Department said a suspect has been charged after a women was stabbed and died early Saturday morning.

According to Rick Scarbrough, Clinton Police Chief, officers were called out to the 800 block of McAdoo Street at around 2:30 Saturday morning, where officers found Heather McKamey, 22, who was stabbed. She died at the scene.

Just minutes earlier, police say they received a domestic disturbance call on the 300 block of Park Avenue, where a witness told officers they heard a man and woman arguing before they both ran away.

CPD said the suspect, Kieth Pittman, 25, was found walking nearby on Fowler Street. Authorities said Pittman has been charged with second degree murder and is being held at the Anderson County Detention Facility.

According to CPD, Pittman and McKamey both lived at a Park Avenue address. McKamey is believed to be a mother of three; however, none of the children were at home at the time of the incident.
