(WBIR) Two people are in custody after they led authorities on a car chase through two counties Tuesday afternoon.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible shoplifting at the Kohl's store in Farragut just before 3 p.m. When the officer got to the store, he found the suspected get-away car still in the parking lot.

KCSO said one of the suspects got out of the car and tried to run away. But after a short chase on foot, officers arrested the suspect.

Meanwhile, the other suspect rammed a cruiser and drove away. The chase took officers onto Pellissippi Parkway, where the Blount County Sheriff's Office was able to stop the driver at the Old Knoxville Highway exit.

The two suspects have not been named, and charges are pending.
